After begging for money so they could "survive" GM passed out bonuses as soon as they got their hands on our tax dollars.
This bailout is a freaking joke
"A former top executive at Merrill Lynch who received a $25 million golden parachute after just three months of work has purchased a $37 million Park Avenue palace."
Wish i could "work" a few days and get 25 mil

HOW'S THAT HOPE AND CHANGE WORKING OUT FOR YA ??????
Should have put the money at the "middle class" level. These excs are one big problem with American Industry. Saw a study once that said the avg Jap exc made 3-4 times mory than the guy working in the factory. Americans made more like 3-400 times the avg American worker.

They should have let them all fail. Would have been the better option.
crack is whack
Bankruptcy for them would not have been the end of the world. They would have managed to survive through reorganization. Bailing out private industry is not what our tax money is for.

File bankruptcy what happens to all the folks that want warranty coverage? And the autoworkers got a small chunk- the loan industry gets most of the cash, and sends it overseas. Common man's money, just split it up and I'll spend it. That would work as well as this plan. Our "Free enterprise" sucks, when our own workers have to compete with slave labor and countries that don't care for human rights. It is a steady progression the the child labor days.

So you are against the small business loans and similar programs?

Nope. You know better than that.
The money we just gave to the Big 3 will not be the end of it. They will be back for more and more and more and........
How many other businesses have reorganized and come out of it stronger? The US auto industry needs a complete makeover and it should not be up to the government to bail them out. How much did it help the economy when we bailed out the financial industry? The banks won't even tell anybody where the money went.

Not much different in my opinion, only drawback would be the loss of all the support jobs tied to automakers. But if it is good for the small company, that offers no benefits or retirement, I don't see how we can not bail the autoworkers. At least some of the cash will find it's way back into the economy. I've always thought small biz loans was a big mistake.
